I was a librarian for 13 years! I have no problem saying, "I don't know the answer, but I know how to find it". This is how I will lead as Braddock Supervisor; I don't know everything about the county, the district, or the job, but I will find the answers.
My daughters are the fourth generation of Shroeders to live and play in Ravensworth Farm. Raising them on the same roads their dad and grandparents played has been a gift. I volunteer at their school library, in their teacher's classrooms, and at their swim meets.
I have volunteered with Fairfax County, supporting the Parenting Empowerment Program and the Consolidated Community Funding Pool. These programs have a direct and positive impact on our community.
I was born a public servant. My dad was a US Marine, and my sister, mom, and I followed him to Japan, North and South Carolina, Louisiana, and Maryland. Being a military brat shaped me into who I am: a woman who deeply loves her community. Community is how we survive and thrive. Every job I have held has been in service my community.
